What does AAES mean in NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

The American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES) is a non-profit professional organization in the United States established to provide leadership in engineering issues and promote the role of engineering.

Through its members, AAES seeks to advance public understanding of the profession and recognition of its contributions. It works to unify different engineering societies, advocate for increased inclusion for engineers in decision-making between government and industry, and build awareness around major initiatives that advance technology. Additionally, AAES supports young professionals interested in engineering.

Some initiatives include guidance for states on maintaining licensure requirements for engineers, working with state legislatures to protect licensure regulations from dilution by non-engineering bodies claiming comparable skillsets, and providing resources such as software tools and activities geared towards K-12 students.
