What does AYSO mean in MUSIC

History

AYSO was founded by a group of parents and musicians who were concerned about the lack of opportunities for young musicians to perform in a professional setting. The orchestra's first concert was held in 1963 and was a huge success. Since then, AYSO has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Lincoln Center.

Mission

AYSO's mission is to provide young musicians with the opportunity to perform in a professional setting and to develop their musical talents. The orchestra is committed to providing a high level of musical training and performance opportunities for its members.

Programs

AYSO offers a variety of programs for young musicians of all ages and skill levels. These programs include:

• The Young Musicians Program is for children ages 6-12 who are new to music. The program teaches basic music theory and performance skills.
• The Junior Orchestra Program is for musicians ages 13-18 who have some experience playing an instrument. The program provides opportunities to perform in a variety of settings.
• The Senior Orchestra Program is for musicians ages 18-25 who are pursuing a career in music. The program provides intensive musical training and performance opportunities.
